Steelwork cranes

Assumptions: different types of cranes (overhead, semi-gantry and gantry) working in steelworks and rolling mills. The specific conditions prevailing in these plants necessitate the use of special constructions of these devices. Cranes are equipped with various types of traverses and gripping devices. Electrical equipment must be protected against high temperatures - one solution is to enclose the electrical components inside the crane girder or in a separate, air-conditioned container. Usually cranes are equipped with two lifting mechanisms - main and auxiliary. Cranes are controlled from a control cabin located on the side or in the middle of the crane, additionally, cabins are made suspended to the winch frame. Another solution is a cabin with its own drive, moving along the crane girder.
